EGEM graduates first batch of students

The school of geology and Exploitation (EGEM) at Meinganga, in the Adamaoua region, has issued its first diploma during a ceremony attended by many authorities in the region.

The first 48 senior technicians in mining engineering from ecole des mines of Meiganga, placed under the academic supervision of the University of Ngaoundéré, Department of la Viña in the Adamawa region were presented to the press, parents and officials Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the town of Meiganga in the Department of the Mbéré Adamaoua.

The ceremony was chaired by Professor Paul Henri Amvam Zollo the Rector of the University of Ngaoundéré located in Dang, in the presence of the political authorities, elites, traditional authorities, relatives friends and acquaintances.

The Rector was made honorary citizen of the town of Meiganga by Aboubakar Kombo mayor who recalled in his opening remarks that "to better establish his reputation of reference school and continue the professionalization of teaching policy committed by public authorities, EGEM of Meiganga has more than 240 hectares now out of the provisional".

At the end of 3 years of quality training, this first promotion of mining engineering technician is ready for the labour market. The daily challenges which EGEM Meiganga face to survive are many. The most important being the construction of a campus worthy of the name on the important area given by the State.

The School received from administrative and municipal authorities of Meiganga a former cinema hall and a Cultural Centre respectively transformed into amphi 700 and 300.

Other classrooms of 60 and 100 seats are located respectively at the level of the Enieg and the high school of the same town, while a part of the building of the Department of tourism delegation was ceded to the Egem... in addition to the valuable support of a group of companies in the construction industry in charge of the tarring of the Garoua-Boulaï Road - Meiganga – Ngaoundere, who graciously offered 53 offices and 23 dwellings (for staff) in the Ngaoundéré University.
