The National School of Administration and Magistracy, better known by its French acronym ENAM has enrolled a total of 78 foreign students for the 2014 -2016 training program. The director general of the prestigious institution, Linus Toussaint Mendjana says the figure is the highest ever registered since the creation of the prestigious institution.

The figure was disclosed October 22 during the official launching of the 2014/2015 back to school academic year of ENAM in Yaounde. Mendjana in his academic discourse said the 78 students were drawn from countries of the sub region, including Gabon, Chad, Congo Brazzaville and Central African Republic.

Of the number, 2 got admission into the department general administration, 12 in the department of finance and 60 in the department of magistracy and court registry.

ENAM has enrolled some 730 students in its 13 departments for this academic year, out of a total of 21,409 candidates who sat for the various entrance examinations into the institution. Out of the figure, the department of general administration received a total of 361 students, financial control got 147 while magistracy and court registry got 222 students.

The 2014-2016 batch has been christened the ‘Performance and Integration batch.’ Mendjana says the idea behind the choice of the name is to give more meaning to President Biya’s strife for performance and regional integration.

He cautioned the fresh recruits to focus on training and imbibe the ideas being churned out to them so as to be references of the institution when ever they get to the field. “ENAM should not be seen as a star that does not shine well,” Mendjana warned, apparently referring to students who learn one thing in school and apply another on the field.

He warned that no forum would be given to students who come to relax in school with the impression that once in ENAM, graduation is imminent. “We do not and we shall not tolerate it. Anyone who does not work hard is bound to repeat. No one should think that students do not repeat at ENAM.” He quipped.

In its push to meet up with international standards, the institution has signed a partnership agreement with US-based universities. Students of the departments of finance and hospital administration would therefore obtain some course from the US partner universities.

Mendjana disclosed that the he was admitting the third batch of students since his appointment as director general of the institution.
