The Self-imposed traditional ruler for Etam I, a village along the Kumba -Tombel-Loum, in Tombel Sub Division, may be handed a draconian jail term if found guilty for fraud and usurpation of title.

Elung Njume Peter Kome alongside his uncle Ekokole Kitts, were arrested following instructions from the SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Handerson Quetong Kongeh and are currently standing trial at the Tombel Court of First Instance with Magistrate Kenneth Ako as the presiding President.

THE SUN gathered that, following his hitch free coronation by Kome Christopher Alowbede as per Prefectoral order N0:302PO/G/42/8/33/A of 4th of June 2014 as 3rd Class Chief of Etam I, Elung Njume Peter, has been brandishing another Prefectoral Order No PO/G/42/8/3 in 2008 endorsed by the then SDO, for Kupe Muanenguba, Eboue Njoume to replace his late father HRH Chief Elung Samuel Kome as 3rd class chief.

As if this is not enough, reports from Etam I holds that, the Cameroonian flag is flying high in the ‘palace’ of Elung Peter, thus causing confusion in the entire village as to who is the real Traditional Ruler of the Etam I.

Talking to THE SUN on this recent development, the self imposed Chief opined that, it’s administrative injustice and unbelievable that his uncle Kome Christopher Alowbede was given a Prefectoral order recently when his was endorsed in 2008 after a frank consultative talks in Etam I which saw him being selected by the King makers.

He narrated his situation provoked by the former SDO for Kupe-Muanenguba, is just an attempt to cause him to lose his traditional rights to his uncle as 3rd class chief of Etam I.

However reports from the Kupe-Muanenguba Divisional Office in Bangem indicates that, the said Prectoral Order appointing Elung Njume Peter Kome as 3rd class chief, purported to have been endorsed by Eboue Njoume, the then SDO, is fake, as the SDO has distant himself from the act.

The enthroned chief of Etam I village, Kome Christopher Alowbede holds that the self imposed chief is being misled by detractors.
