The party house of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) in Olezoa Yaounde yesterday August 5, 2013 was exceptionally busy. Besides daily activities, workers in the office were faced with another challenge - that of preparing complaint files for submission at the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court against the rejection of their lists in the Centre Region for September 30 council elections.
Party legal experts were buried in work, preparing files while other staff remained at the beck and call of hierarchy. The party Regional Chairman for the Centre, Ibrahim Aladji Soulemanou, just from the Headquarters of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), spoke of a busy schedule. He explained that the SDF was concentrated on how to prepare and submit complaints for the rejection of their lists in some council areas of the Mfoundi Division before the prescribed deadline. (five days from the publication of lists and candidates by ELECAM).
The party officials cried fowl on the rejection of their lists, pointing accusing fingers at the ELECAM. According to the party officials, ELECAM worked for the rejection of their lists right from the deadline for the submission of nomination papers on July 17, 2013.
Another item on the agenda was to bring all supporters on board as meetings intensify to come up with best campaign strategies and funding. At the national level, the SDF plans to hold its National Executive Committee, NEC meeting on Saturday 11, 2013 to polish up preparations and campaign strategies.
