The two expatriates who were arrested on Monday at the Douala International Airport are still being held in detention.

According to police sources, the culprits are a Nigerian and a Chinese, but their names or occupations have not been communicated to Cameroon Tribune.

The first was arrested after disembarking from a flight from Ethiopian Airways March 2 at mid-day. Hidden in his trolley were four packages of cocaine. The package weighed 3.8 kg in total. " The package was preserved in a well taped envelope", explains our source, who added that each pack could be valued at about 30 thousand francs per gram!

The Douala airport control device detected earlier the same day, 152 grams of gold which a Chinese national was preparing to leave the country with.

It was detected during "the formalities of departure", said a police officer, before clarifying that, "there is a procedure to be respected; he had to declare this gold to customs but he did not.
