Express Union strengthens its position in Central Africa

Soon established in all countries of the CEMAC zone, the Cameroonian society Express Union assumes its position as a sub-regional leader of money transfer.

A success related to the density of its network of branches and the diversification of its business.

In a few months ahead, the Cameroonian society Express Union, money transfer specialist, should be present in each of the six CEMAC countries.

It is only Equatorial Guinea that is still missing the call, "but authorities are very interested in our establishment," assures Albert Kouinche, Director and founder of the company, which must go to Malabo "to meet its future local partners."

The strategy is still the same since in 2006 Albert Kouinche decided to conquer the CEMAC.

"In general, a local contractor came to seek us to establish a partnership and replicate our model in his country," explains the boss of Express Union, who is careful to disclose the name of his associates in the Congo, Central African Republic and Gabon.

Chad, where the service provider is established since 2007, is an exception.

"We conducted a market study which showed that there was still a great potential", the leader said. With good reason, Chad is today the second Express Union network, just behind Cameroon.

Created seventeen years ago, the group prides itself as being the leader in its sector at the sub-regional level, even if it refuses to confirm its results, estimated in 2013 at a dozen million Euros.

CEMAC alone presents nearly 80% of the turnover of Express Union, which has more than 3,500 employees in 657 operational agencies of Central Africa.
