Fcfa 170 million from State coffers is the amount to give the people of Mbven Sub-division hope when the 24 km stretch linking them to Kumbo is rehabilitated.

It was a day for the Sub-division when Bui SDO, Nzeki Theophile launched rehabilitation works recently with a message of hope for the population whom he urged to always stand by the nation.

Drawing inspiration from the Bible, the SDO advised the population to remain prayerful, patient, peaceful and hopeful. Equally around, the Mayor of Mbven municipality, Fonyuy Bernsah Fidelis saluted the dynamism of the Head of State, President Biya and the government of PM Yang for giving the people of the municipality a chance in development with a good road.

He extended the gratitude of the population to the government for keeping the promise of linking the Sub-division to the divisional capital, Kumbo.

Rehabilitation works will stretch from the junction around St Augustine’s College, Kumbo through Dzeng in Nkum Sub-division to Mbiame, capital of Mbven Sub-division. On-the-spot, CAMNEWS got it that rehabilitation works are expected to run smoothly with the Upper Nun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA) as the contractor.

Away from that, the Divisional Delegate of MINEPAT, Eugene Ntoi says the Sub-division will enjoy the privilege of over FCFA One billion in public investment projects in 2014 to cover the rehabilitation of roads, extension of water schemes, construction of classrooms, extension of electricity and the construction of the Mbonso market, amongst others.

The Mbiame area emerges as the breadbasket of Bui division and the bumpy nature of its roads has not helped matters in recent years.

Song and dance animated the launching of the road rehabilitation. It was also news that the Kumbo-Mbiame road that used to be a council road will henceforth benefit budgeting allocations for road maintenance following its integration as a regional road.
