FCFA 40b to develop Bertoua, Garoua and Bafoussam

This investment is the result of an agreement signed between the Government of Cameroon and the French Development Agency on November 24, 2014 in Yaounde.

An agreement was signed last Monday between the Government of Cameroon and the French Development Agency (AFD), which aims to provide FCFA 40 billion to contribute to urban development in Bafoussam, Garoua and Bertoua.

The agreements was signed shortly before the opening of the joint review of the performance of the development partnership of Cameroon, a meeting which took stock of the various projects that the Government of Cameroon leads with partners. This grant is within the scope of the financing of the C2D project (Contract Debt Reduction and Development) Urban called "regional capital".

The documents were signed by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Planning Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, the Director of the French Development Agency and the Ambassador of France in Cameroon. The so-called "Regional Capital" program aims to contribute to the economic development of Cameroon's cities. During the meeting tenure yesterday in Yaounde, experts, development partners tried to assess the consumption of public support mechanisms to development.

The actors are called to better organize their interventions for the effective implementation of the Strategy Document for Growth and Employment. It was about identifying problems and proposing appropriate solutions in the framework of this partnership. The work was conducted in the form of exchanges organized by sectors in the presence of several members of the government.
