A false alert of Ebola fever was announced in Cameroon, following the detention of a Nigerian national in a hospital centre in Maroua, northernmost, Nigeria border.
According to health officials, a thorough diagnosis of this patient led to the conclusion that the patient is not suffering from Ebola, an unequivocal stance confirmed by tests at the Centre Pasteur in Yaoundé.
"It was once more a false alarm," said the health authorities, before reassuring that for now, Cameroon is untouched by this disease.
Two weeks ago, a false alarm of a case of Ebola had been launched via SMS, while the Chinese patient who was sick and hospitalized in the Laquintinie (Central) from Douala hospital was suffering from another disease.
