Family killed in Douala fire

An entire family, a couple and their daughter, has been killed in a fire at their home in Douala, local media reported. Firefighters were still investigating the cause of the fire on Monday. No other casualty were reported.

Eyewitnesses said the family was trapped in their home after the fire broke early Monday. Firefighters arrived at the scene but it was too late to save them.

The city was stunned by the incident, said a local journalist. “Accidents are common but people have been heartbroken by the fact that an entire family has been wiped out.”

The couple was described as “young” but no further information was available about them.
