The head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa Simon Peter Brooks has been received in audience by the Senate President Marcel Niat Njifenji this Tuesday, April 5,2016.
Discussions during the audience focused on material support of the Regional Organization to internally displaced persons and refugees of the Far North Region.
The organization which channels its assistance through the Cameroon Red Cross Organization has been working to relief the sufferings of victims of internal conflicts.
Mr. Simon Peter Brooks indicated that his visit to Cameroon is partly to reinforce cooperation ties with the Cameroon Red Cross, adding that his organization has received encouragement from Cameroon’s leader President Paul Biya.
The material support includes a consignment of goods of basic necessity and foodstuff to victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in the Far North Region.
