Far North: Kousseri cattle market inaugurated

The market that has officially gone functional is the fallout of cooperation ties between Cameroon and the United Nation.

The new market was inaugurated in Kousseri during a ceremony chaired by the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer of the Logone and Chari Division.

He said the opening the market is a demonstration of the level of security in the division. He called on the population and traditional rulers to continue to support defense and security forces and administrative authorities through sharing of useful intelligence. He also commended vigilante groups and urged them to keep up especially as they will also keep watch in the new market.

The Coordinator of the UN system in Cameroon, Najat Rochdi said the market is intended to step the development of the Logone and Chari division and of the Far North hard hit by insecurity.
