Mr. Ian Agbor Tabe has described the role of farmers as veritable catalysts in development. He was representing the sub Delegate of Agriculture for Buea, Mr. Germain Elame, at a hectic workshop on Saturday January 3, 2015.

Mr. Agbor Tabe described the workshop, with the theme, Financing Agro Projects as very timely. It brought together, almost 50 agricultural and livestock farmers, at the Agro-Pastoral Cooperative Training Center, that will go operational from January 5.

Welcoming the farmers to the workshop, its Founder Pa John Tazifor pointed out that the raison d’etre of the Center was to contribute to the second-generation agricultural emergence of Cameroon. He referred to Booker T. Washington, whose pioneer agricultural institution in America eventually paved the way to the acclaimed, world-wide Green Revolution.

Resource person, George Mofor, thoroughly expounded on the modalities that would enable farmers in the Southwest region, to access financing for their agricultural endeavours. His expose on the same theme, was further buttressed by that of Mr. Nkenju Roseveld.

It is worth noting that, according to Pa Tazofor, such workshops will be organized monthly and the theme for that of February will dwell on Family Farming. Participants will be schooled on techniques of incubating all species of birds and egg production. Those in the agricultural sector per se, will be introduced to the production and use of organic manure from Ghana.
