Fatal road accident leaves one dead

A fatal road accident that occurred recently is reported to have left one person dead and others injured. The accident took place along the Kumba-Buea highways around Kang Barombi in Kumba III Sub Division.

According to eye witness account,the unfortunate incident happened when a 4X4 Toyota Hilux on top speed to Douala missed control and knock down a commercial bike rider,with his lone passenger, a Nigerian National, who resides in Kosala II, Kumba II Sub Division.

Following the confusion after the incident still on the highway, an incoming car from Buea, immediately made matter worse to the Nigerian as the car hit the Nigerian, who died on the spot. The 4X4 Hilux driver is reported to have attempted running away with the car, but unfortunately for him security officials in Muyuka were immediately contacted and the vehicle was apprehended.

The new State Counsel for Meme, Justice Afuah Emmanuel is reported to have ordered for investigations into the matter while the corpse of the late Nigerian was transferred to the Kumba based Mortuary in Kosala.
