Fighting Boko Haram: U.S pledges support again

The Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo has received in audience the U.S Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for African Affairs, Amanda Dory.

During the audience this Tuesday 10th March 2015, both parties discussed the United States’ efforts to support Cameroon in the fight against Boko Haram.

Talking to the press, Ms Amanda Dory reconfirmed her country’s “robust support” underway for Cameroon’s defence forces.

The U.S representative also reassured Cameroonians that America will support the country diplomatically by fully engaging itself in the UN Security Council decision to authorise the Multinational Joint Task Force to go operational.

The U.S Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for African Affairs and her delegation doffed their hats to Cameroon for her tactfulness in peacekeeping efforts especially with the success of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Another topic the U.S. envoy emphasised on during the MINREX audience was maritime security.
