The fight against the Nigerian terrorist group,Boko Haram in Africa and Cameroon to be specific is a fight that has seen the mobilization of the State as well as well individuals and corporate bodies, from a number of peaceful demonstrations, prayers to financial support.

1) Fraudsters on the offensive

The Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Cameroon Peoples` Democratic Movement (CPDM), Jean Nkuete has released a communique calling the attention of the country`s international friends and partners to be on high alert in relation to fake emissaries.

The communique sent to diplomats, international organisations based in Cameroon, Cameroon’s diplomatic missions abroad and managers of para-public institutions in Cameroon clearly indicates that some people under fake identity have been harassing officials claiming to collect funds in the fight against Boko Haram.

The impostors who claim to be emissaries of the Secretary General of the CPDM are asking for various forms of assistance as support to the Cameroon military.

Jean Nkuete is calling on Cameroons friends and partners to be vigilant as no such delegation is sent especially in the name of the CPDM party.

2)South West Region makes her contribution in the fight

Individuals and institutions in the region have made contributions intended to the country`s military to the tune of FCFA 43,606,900 and food items to Cameroon`s military.

The donations were assembled by a committee put in place for that purpose headed by the South West Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai.

Apart from a number of individuals of good faith, donations also came from administrative and religious officials, traditional rulers and managers of corporate bodies in the region.

Receiving the donations, Governor Bernard Okalai Bilai thanked the donors for this goodwill gesture promising to very gently channel the package.
