Several home-based organizations have expressed their interest to join the Business Coalition against Corruption (BCAC) in their effort to get rid of the vice.

The revelation was made recently during an activity review workshop organized by the BCAC in Yaounde.

During the workshop, enterprises including the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), the Supreme State Audit (CONSUPE), the Grouping of Cameroon’s Industrialists and Employers (GICAM) and Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL), made known their decision to fight corruption by ensuring ethical conduct amongst all members of staff.

Speaking during the workshop, the British High Commissioner, H.E. Brian Olley decried the existence of corruption worldwide and called on participants to join efforts in reducing its effects.

A BCAC member, Baker Magunda mentioned that the coalition’s initiative to stop corruption is a move towards Cameroon’s emergence by 2035.

To Baker Magunda, the war could be a success if the public and private sectors engage in partnering.

The Chair of the Business Council of Africa (BCA), Raph Manyi went further to state that a united force to oust corruption will ensure more profits for shareholders and a better business environment.

The Honorary Chair of BCA, Richard Howe commended the engagement of each institution in combating the practice.
