Chantal Biya, first lady of Cameroon has solicited humanitarian support for refugees in the country through her international advocacy for the disadvantaged.
Having received donations from Jason Yasin Erdem, president of the Chamber of Commerce Canada-Cameroon and Africa (CCCAO) and his wife Chantal Erdem, the UNESCO goodwill Ambassador has decided to hand over the gifts to refugees.
This comes across as one of the ways the first lady marks her solidarity to the collective search for solutions to the security problems currently prevailing in the country. These donations are made up of two containers of sanitary products valued at over 50 million F.
The consignment which arrived at the Douala port on February 18, will be presented tomorrow to the officials of the Office of High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at the headquarters of African Synergies against AIDS and the suffering in Yaoundé.
In April 2014, Jason Yasin Erdem offered two containers of equipment and medical equipment valued at 150 million to African Synergies. These products enabled the improvement of the technical platforms of over 20 hospitals in the country.
These gifts are the result of the assessment made by Mr. Jason Yasin Erdem of the humanitarian work of the first lady of Cameroon.
