The Cameroon High Commissioner to Canada was Tuesday August 12 host to Fon Fontem Asabatong.
The courtesy visit which lasted for about two hours began with a brief introduction of the delegation that accompanied the Fon from Montreal, Gatineau and Toronto. The delegation comprised of Dr. Joseph Njinkeng Nkemngu, Dr. Michel Ntemgwa, Efuange Khumbah (President LECDA Toronto), Hilary Asaba (President LECDA Montreal), Martin Alongamoh (President CCC Toronto), Rev. Receiving the Fon, the Cameroon High Commissioner, Solomon Azoh-Mbi thanked him and his delegation for honouring the invitation to visit him.
The High Commissioner admonished the Fon on how to rule and communicate with members of his community in the spirit of humility. He advised the Fon to focus on his education, and that as a student in Canada, he should learn some positive values that he can take back home - especially those values that are not very visible.
Azoh-Mbi disclosed that this was his second opportunity to receive the Fon of Fontem. He said while working in the Presidency then, he was opportuned to welcome the former Fon when he was enthroned and that welcoming his son now while he is in Canada was a big privilege.
Fon Asabatong Fontem congratulated the Cameroon ambassador and the embassy staff for the passion, good work, and determination to serve the Cameroon community in Canada.
