Former Cmr’ian football giant, Geremi Njitap, makes header for real estate

The real estate civil society organisation, GNF, owned by former Cameroonian football giant, Geremi Sorel Njitap Fotso ,is among the first 13 local and international companies to sign investment agreements with the Cameroonian government on September 9, 2014 within the framework of implementation of the April 18, 2013 law on private investment incentives.

The law allows for substantial 5-10 year exemptions for companies which the former national Cameroonian football team goalie describes as being “a great opportunity to facilitate investment here in Cameroon,” but also “but also a great opportunity for “his” conversion” after a brilliant career in football.

“I’ve gotten into the real estate sector where I believe the need is real. My collaborators and I will be building affordable housing. This will be good for the Cameroonian people by not only creating jobs, but also providing housing for my fellow countrymen,” stated the former Réal de Madrid player.

Société immobilière du Cameroun (SIC), the public company originally responsible for the promotion of social housing, has only built around 12,000 units in over 50 years. Today, the low-income housing shortage is estimated to be over one million units.
