The Mayor of Fotokol and municipal magistrate of the CPDM in the Logone and Chari , Ramat Moussa is in detention following suspension of his alliance with the jihadists of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram. He was told on by tenants of having to supply weapons to the sect in Kousseri.

Members of the Boko Haram sect who were arrested and transferred to Yaounde by a special flight revealed the long list of their accomplices in Cameroon as they had promised investigators.

Mayor Moussa’s arrest was due to a twist in the case concerning weapons discovered in a villa at Kousseri, a border town with Nigeria (Gambarou Narayanan) where the battle between the forces of the Alpha operation and Boko Haram fighters is severe.

According to a high-ranking army stationed at Yaoundé, "The Mayor of Fotokol used his own vehicle to carry weapons to Boko. He was not on any suspicion at that time and was allowed to escape the vigilance of our elements deployed on the ground”.

The suspected Mayor has been arrested and taken ‘manu militari’ in Yaounde where he has been kept.
