Ongoing work for the maintenance of CRTV antenna in Douala proved to be fatal for four technicians. They were at the top of a 200 metres high tower when the poll fell.
"It seems that one of the safety cables dropped, causing an imbalance that caused the fall of the post. The bodies of the victims are still trapped in the tower. They were five in all, but one miraculously survived the accident with serious injuries" says Armand Manga inhabitant of the Logbessou district.
The tower that fell, carried antennas of CRTV (Cameroon Radio and Television), BBC, RFI antennas. Therefore, since this incident, the emissions of the different media have not been received in the city of Douala and its surroundings.
The Governor of the coastal region and other administrative and traditional authorities are currently at the scene of the incident.
