The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, Ni John Fru Ndi has made a passionate appeal to the European Union, the United Nations and the US government to continue to pressure the Biya regime to foster the democratization process in Cameroon.
Fru Ndi was addressing the media following the commencement of activities marking 25 years of the struggle for change. The SDF Chairman observed that the regime has succeeded to take the nation back to a single party state with counterfeit electoral processes. He said the political environment has been polluted by CPDM propaganda.
"They have said Fru Ndi has billions given to him by the regime in foreign bank accounts. Fru Ndi is a witch doctor! They called us terrorists, enemies in the house, Biafra!! These stories are concocted to divert attention from the failures of the Biya regime". The SDF boss saluted the press for the positive contribution they have made to the bill of health of the SDF.
Fru Ndi hinted that he extended a hand of friendship to President Biya during his visit to Bamenda and thought meaningful dialogue was going to proceed geared towards getting Cameroon out of its present state of confused identity. The Chairman however revealed that Biya instead interpreted his gesture as a "photo shoot ceremony".
Fru Ndi praised the Cameroon army and thanked the Chadian leader Idris Deby for the support he has accorded Cameroon in the fight against the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
Fru Ndi announced that only a solid federal structure will move Cameroon forward. The ageing SDF Chairman showed no signs of stepping down from the SDF leadership.
