GHS Limbe churns out 668 students at graduation ceremony

Ayompe Hadassah Limunga, the Principal of Government High School Limbe fondly dubbed Lycée Classique de Limbè has churned out 668 students during the Graduation and Prize Award Ceremony of the 2013/2014 batch.

The principal speaking during a press briefing said this number included graduating students at both the Ordinary and Advanced Levels of the Cameroon General Certificate Examinations GCE.

Ayompe Hadassah Limunga said the institution had greatly benefitted from God’s blessings and that this had been reflected in the way things went smoothly in the establishment this year.

The tutors she said had done their best and a lot was expected from the students. The success of the organisation to which the teachers greatly contributed she said, made this year’s graduation unique.

Henry Ashu Enoabane, representative of the Regional Delegate for Secondary Education in Fako Division who was unavoidably absent said his impressions at the end of the graduation and the prize award ceremony were good.

The main aim of the Ministry of Secondary Education he said was to promote excellence. This he said justified the presence of the Delegation of Secondary Education at the ceremony.

Henry Ashu Enoabane said in collaboration with secondary schools in Fako, the Divisional Delegate plans to collect the names of the best students with an intention of awarding those with the greatest number of papers with the best grades with a prize of excellence.

The best overall student in the second cycle, Akongui Stephen Juniour from Upper Sixth Science overwhelmed all the guests and students with the string of prizes that he took during the prize awards.

The heavily attended occasion was also graced by the presence of principals from other establishments amongst whom were the Principal of GHS Motombolombo, Tiko, Ndedi Wose, representative of Honourable Etombi Gladys who in abstencia donated the prize of the most well behaved student.

Also present were Dr Nzo Nguti who accompanied the principal Ayompe Limunga and the others to hand over the prizes and the attestations of services to outgoing prefects.

Highlights of the occasion included beautiful cultural displays and also saw a colourful and symbolic opening entrance of graduating students headed by Vice Principal Angula for the first cycle and Ayompe Limunga for the second cycle amongst others.

The joyful atmosphere among the students and the camaraderie among the tutors, administrators and the representative from the delegation were all signs of a successful academic year and an indication of great results in the offing.
