Gabon Lobbies For Mix Commission Meeting

Gabonese Ambassador to Cameroon, Paul Patrick Biffot held talks with the Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum yesterday May 27, 2013 on the imminent holding of a Mix Commission session between Cameroon and Gabon in Yaounde.

Paul Patrick Biffot told reporters after the audience that he was at MINREX to hand over a letter from his government regarding the possibility of organizing in the weeks or months ahead, a meeting between Gabon and Cameroon in accordance with the agreement signed between both countries in September 2012 regarding trans-border security issues. The Mix Commission, according to the Gabonese diplomat was created to follow-up measures put in place by both countries to ensure that security in border zones of both countries was at its maximum. "Many agreements signed between both countries are still pending and the holding of the Yaounde conference will pave the way for their implementation," Paul Patrick Biffot noted.

He however revealed that the first meeting of the follow-up committee held in Yaounde and the second is expected to hold in Libreville Gabon, probably after the holding of the Mix Commission meeting.
