The students of the 42nd batch of Judicial Police Officers (OPJ) donated equipment to the National Gendarmerie Training and Instruction Centre in Yaounde on Wednesday July 30, 2014.
The equipment which comprises two renovated classrooms, chairs, tables and pedagogic material will help improve working conditions for future trainees and enable them study in a healthy and more decent environment.
Speaking at the occasion, Brigadier General Daniel Njock Elokobi hailed the trainees for the gesture. He said the donation constitutes a major support for the school and wished that their example will be followed by future generations.
General Elokobi called on the trainees to show proof of discipline, commitment and abnegation as they carry out their duties. By donating to the school, the 42nd batch of Judicial Police Officers intends to leave its mark in the centre as it is a tradition for centre.
The 42nd batch of OPJ contributed towards the grand programme of modernisation of the National Gendarmerie led by the Secretary of State for Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Jean Baptiste Bokam.
