The Minister of Employment and Vocation Training has launched the 3rd phase of the rapid results initiative to fight corruption in the deliverance of professional training certificates.

The ceremony which took place on 06th October 2015 was occasion for the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Zacharie Perevet, to explain the importance of the initiative.

He argued that it was important for graduates from professional centres to receive their end of course certificates latest 100 days after graduation. To render this effective, the process will be decentralized.

The issue of corruption has been recurrent because graduates of most vocational training school in Cameroon usually spend several months after the training before getting their end of course certificates.

Sometimes, these graduates are obliged to go to the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training in Yaounde for these certificates.

This situation has favored corrupt practices because it becomes easy for those who have not been trained to obtain end of course certificate.

The launching of the third phase of the rapid result initiative is therefore government’s efforts to curb corruption and guarantee quality employment for young Cameroonians who have been trained.

Ebenezer Betreme member of the Anti-Corruption Unit in the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training during the occasion stressed the importance of trained Cameroonians to be employed. Tempted to practice corruption so as to have the certificate on time and sometimes have false certificates.
