The three-day forum will take place at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.
The second edition of the "Forum on Government Action" known in its French acronym as "SAGO 2013", begins at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sport Complex today, August 20, 2013 under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Head of Government. The forum that ends on August 23, 2013 will hold on the theme, "The action of government at the heart of emergence."
Communication Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary in a press briefing announcing the forum on August 16, 2013 said it was aimed at, "throwing more light into the action of public authorities in relation to their prerogative role of promoting all sectors of activity of our country for an emerging Cameroon as wished by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya."
The key objectives, the Minister said were: to contribute to the synergy of actions of public authorities; support a transversal action of government's deployment; build the image of the government and that of the entire country; present, showcase and hail the contents of government's accomplishments; plan and showcase all projects contained in the "Major Accomplishments" agenda of the Head of State; and present government as a credible institution, constantly listening to all its partners.
The General Commissioner of the Forum, Patrice Assiga Eyene, in a press release gives its detailed programme with focus on key themes to be discussed. Over 19 ministries are programmed to present papers on the execution of government policy in their respective domains. The organizers of SAGO 2013, the Minister of Communication disclosed, are young Cameroonians, mostly media practitioners, graduates from major higher institutions of learning of Cameroon and abroad, experts on organizational communication, public relations, journalism, as well as communication and information technologies.
