The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang has installed newly appointed cabinet ministers to their posts while acknowledging the outgoing ones for their role in the development of the country.
The installation that took place on Monday, October 5, 2015, was an opportunity for the PM to caution the new comers to easily get acquainted with their functions with the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
The Prime Minister who survived the Friday, October 2, 2015, cabinet shakeup looked relax and calm during the first five minutes that he took to install the first Minister.
He saluted the former Minister of Defense, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o for the work done in ensuring the security of Cameroonians while transferring his baton of command to the former governor of the Littoral Region, Joseph Beti Assomo, who now is Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defense.
As incoming Minister in the transport domain, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o looked more confident in a field he has never been before.
The same rituals were repeated at the Supreme State Audit office on Madame Mbah Acha nee Foumunda Rose Ngwari who is now Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audits.
Bidoung Mpwatt who took over from the Minister of Sports, Adoum Garoua, had an expression of confidence on his face as the Prime Minister installed him to a post he once mastered, a time Cameroonians were proud of their football Lions.
The series of the installation of the cabinet ministers continued with the Minister of Secondary Education, Economy, External Relations, Youth Affaires and Public Works.
At the Ministry of Social Affairs, the newcomer Pauline Irene Nguene Kendeck was commanded to her new functions. As the new Minister of Public Works, the PM congratulated Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, Former Minster of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development for meriting the confidence of the President.
At the Ministry of Secondary Education, the PM handed power to another newcomer Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe as he takes over power from the former Minister Louis Bapes Bapes.
Minister Louis Paul Motaze who takes over from Emmanuel Nganou Djuomessi was also initiated as head the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development.
At the Ministry of External Relations where former Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo handed over power to former Cameroonian Ambassador to France Lejeune Mbella Mbella, the PM cautioned the newcomer to ensure a good image of Cameroon at the national and international scenes.
At the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education where Foutsou Mounouna is the new Minister, the Head of government thanked the outgoing ministers in the place of the Head of State for services rendered to the country.
The new faces in government were asked to exhibit the spirit of hard work and commitment to service at a time Cameroon needs their likes to sail through her development trail.
The new Ministers of Post and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng, Minister of Mines, Industries and Technological Development,Ernest Ngwaboubou, Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Finance ,Paul Elung Che, Narcisse Kombi Mouelle, Minister of Arts and Culture Portfolio among others underwent the same installation rituals.
Taking serious matters at hand, the Prime Minister, Head of Government used less than half of the time that was allocated for the installation formalities. It is should be noted that the installation ceremony was initially planned to end 5 p.m., but at 1:30 p.m., the Prime Minister had finished and all the appointed ministers were officially on duty.
