Cameroon government has intensified the hunt against the use of non-biodegradable plastic packaging in the country.

Through a campaign launched by the Ministry of the environment and nature protection, the authorities announced the seizure of more than 215 tons of plastic packaging.

Despite the fact that non-biodegradable plastic packaging was banned in the country two months ago, some supermarkets have refused to adhere to the regulations in force. The government has however decided to intensify measures to completely eliminate the use of these non-biodegradable plastics.

However, the movement of such plastic bags actually declined since the implementation of the measure on the Cameroonian territory.

The Ministry of environment has declared the use of these non-biodegradable plastic packaging illegal in the territory.
