According to the president of the University of the Mountains (UDM), the potential of Cameroonians abroad can bring a lot to the development of the country.

"Contrary to what is happening in North and West Africa, Cameroon does not exploit fully the potential of its diaspora for its development." This was said by Professor Kaptue Lazarus, president of the University of the Mountains (UDM), located in the city of Bangangté.

He nevertheless presents his project as an example of the result of taking into account the expertise of the Cameroonian Diaspora. "From the start of our project, we involved our diaspora located in Europe, North America and elsewhere.

"I must admit that the contribution of the diaspora as in the delivery of teaching and mobilizing their network of relationships in the procurement of equipment has been invaluable in the development of UDM project," explained the teacher of Medicine at the official ceremony to usher in doctors, pharmacists and other students arrived for training in his institution on 15 November.

To believe the president of the UDM, "our diaspora has only one desire, one burning desire: to contribute to the development of our country by making us take advantage of his expertise," he explains it.

He invites the Cameroonian authorities to follow the example of Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, "to give our Diaspora the place that is hers for the development of our country," urges one whose institution in ten years of existence, has managed to make a significant reputation in Cameroon and beyond.

"These are all conditions that met the quality trained products of UDM, which is unanimously recognized. Indeed, the return of diaspora from wherever they are that we have repeatedly talked about, are, if they show up to the task, they are competitive," reassures Dr. Lazarus Kaptue.
