The staff of the Ministry of public works in charge of monitoring and implementation of projects have been under training since August 26 by CONSUPE in Yaounde.

Some actors in charge of the management of public goods are often pinned by the CONSUPE, for management fault. A public works engineer explains that "during the execution of a project, we are sometimes led to take an urgent decision.

But as long as that decision entails a financial impact, we are apprehended, or even prosecuted. Furthermore, "during field audits, it is often revealed that technicians went wrong in one way rather than another", regrets Zanga Mathurin, Coordinator of African Development Bank - World Bank, established within the Ministry of public works.

Thus, to prevent objectionable practices, control the optimal use of available resources and promote good governance in the management of projects with external financing, Mintp yesterday launched a four days training for the staff of the Africa Development Bank under the World Bank. Learning provided by experts from CONSUPE.

According to Patrice Amba Salla, Minister of public works, "the ADB and the World Bank are the largest providers of funding for projects in the sector. It is important that the country remains worthy of their support through the mastery of the procedures that they enact.
