Government has warned the media about relaying information that the country faces an internal rebellion in the far north of the country.

The Minister of Communication, spokesman for the Government, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, at a press conference, said that Cameroon was attacked in the far north by members of the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.

He denied reports that the malcontents of the management of President Paul Biya are at the origin of the armed attacks in the Cameroonian septentrion.

"Boko Haram does not exist in Cameroon. Cameroon attacks are indeed perpetrated from the outside by assailants who cross the border soon after the commission of their acts. Boko Haram is a stranger to the Cameroon phenomenon,"Tchiroma argued.

Deadly violence have been committed in recent months in the North of Cameroon, on the border with Nigeria, where Boko Haram attacks are rampant.
