Green city contest launched to promote horticulture in Dla

In the framework of the maintenance of the safety and beautification of the city, the urban community of Douala (Cud) has just launch the contest of the most beautiful and cleanest garden in the city of Douala, as well as the cleanest municipality in the Wouri.

On the one hand, as regards the first competition, the general objective is to oversee and promote the activities of horticulturists installed on the public highway in the city and to encourage the latter to participate actively to the beautification of the city through the maintenance of the places on which are installed their nurseries, the development and maintenance of sites entrusted to them for the purpose of offering to the populations of the green spaces and more attractive public.

On the other hand, for the competition of the cleanest municipality in the Wouri, it is the improvement of the living environment of the populations of the city through the elimination of pockets of unhealthy conditions, the awareness of the population on the concept of public good and the promotion of citizen actions in the neighborhoods.

The planned activities include health and safety, sanitation, urban development (regulatory compliance in terms of urban planning, civic activities, fight against urban disorder) and the implementation of new initiatives. Regular raids of commissions on the ground are planned to assess the different competitions.
