Higher Magistracy Council end working session in Yaoundé

The 9 members who gathered around president Paul Biya liquidated the day-to-day affairs of the Council and gave their opinion on nominees to the Constitutional Council.

For Laurent Esso the Minister of Justice, interviewed by the press at the end of the Higher Magistracy Council Thursday, December 18 at the unity Palace said everything happened in a controlled manner.

Both at the level of items traditionally enrolled in the agenda as disciplinary proceedings (in particular), the inclusion of magistrates to the progress table and also at the level of what was the fifth of the six points of this meeting, namely the appointment of two members of the Magistracy Supreme Council to sit at Constitutional Council.

According to the keeper of the seals, "the head of State sought the opinion of the Supreme Council of the Magistracy.
