Hon. Cavaye Receives Gabonese Ambassador

Ambassador Michel Madoungou had a farewell audience with the House Speaker.

The outgoing Ambassador of Gabon to Cameroon, Michel Madoungou yesterday, November 15, 2012 had a farewell audience with the Speaker of Cameroon's National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril during which the two officials reviewed bilateral relations with the National Assemblies of the two countries as a point of focus.

Ambassador Michel Madoungou who also doubled as dean of the diplomatic corps at the moment of leaving Cameroon, was in the country for six years. He told the press that the Speaker of Cameroon's National Assembly and that of Gabon had fraternal relations. He said Cameroon has been instrumental in innovations in Gabon, citing improvements in the country's road network that was inspired by the visit of Gabonese Members of Parliament to Cameroon in 2006.

The diplomat specified that during the visit the MPs travelled from Yaounde through Douala to Limbe and also to Foumban and admired the road network. Upon return to Gabon, the people's representatives requested and obtained from government a substantial budget to develop the road network. Michel Madoungou who was received by Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang at the Star Building on November 13, 2012 leaves Yaounde to London, United Kingdom in the same capacity.
