Hubert Fotso Sobngwi passes on

After three cardiac attacks, the retired CRTV journalist, Hubert Fotso Sobngwi finally succumbed to death at the Yaounde Teaching Hospital.

He died on September 4, 2015 at the Intensive Care Unit of the Teaching Hospital where he had spent 25 days following a stroke (Cerebrovascular accident).

The brother to the deceased, Professor Eugene Sobngwi told Cameroon Tribune that since August 9, 2015 his brother suffered from a stroke and was in a coma. He revealed that Hubert had two cardiac attacks and was successfully resuscitated by the medical team of the Yaounde Emergency Center.

He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Teaching Hospital on August 10 for further medical care. Prof Eugene Sobngwi says his brother did not survive the third cardiac attack. Born on February 2, 1958 in Ayos, Hubert Fotso Sobngwi leaves behind three children.

After receiving training at ESIJY that later became the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC), Hubert Sobngwi started his professional career at the National Radio (Direction de la Radiodiffusion Nationale) in 1983.

He worked mainly at the political desk and economic desk of the national radio and received the award of best economic journalist. Hubert had also served as editor-in-chief at the CRTV regional stations of South West, West and Centre. He went on retirement two years ago.
