Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang will today December 15, 2015 preside over the launching by the Ministry of Justice of government’s 2015-2019 Plan of Action for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights. The event will be coupled with the publication of the ministry’s annual report on the state of human rights.

The event comes on the heels of publications of human rights reports by stakeholders such as the National Commission on Human Rights and Freedoms as well as Amnesty International. The event also falls within the context of the 2015 edition of the Human Rights Day which was commemorated on December 10, 2015 with focus on the notion of the indivisibility of human rights.

While reaffirming the principle of indivisibility and interdependence of human rights, the Cameroon Bar Council through its President,  Barrister Jackson Ngnie Kamga, implored government to do more to enable citizens enjoy all their economic, social and cultural rights which result from the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. In the following interview, the Sub-Director in the Ministry of Justice, Hermine G. Kembo Takam épse Zang explains the concept of indivisibility of human rights.
