The National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms (NCHRF) has presented Cameroon’s 2014 human rights report.

According to the 250-page bilingual document presented on December 3, 2015, there is a growing awareness for human rights in the country.

That notwithstanding, the report highlights the difficulty to separate human rights and security issues following the Boko Haram incursions in the Far North Region.

The document also indicated that the growing terrorist threats and the impact of the conflicts in the Central African Republic affect the situation of human rights in Cameroon.

During the meeting, the President of the Commission, Dr Chemuta Divine Banda expressed satisfaction with the improved collaboration between public authorities and the NCHRF.
