Developers are exhibiting their know-how in a forum that rounds off in Yaounde this Friday August 9, 2014.

Fine ICT-based technological innovations and inventions are on display in Yaounde as developers scout for sponsors to transform their ideas into finished products and services capable of accelerating the country’s development in all facets.

The ingenious brain works of the young Cameroonians is stealing the show at the first-ever forum organized by the National Agency for Information and Communication Technology (ANTIC) and which groups innovators and sponsors to network and seek better ways of developing the sector.

Makam Lonla Aurel, a young graduate from the Yaounde Advanced School of Engineering is one of the innovators whose product, Confiance online, is proposing internet-based services for the protection of websites and online signatures.

These are with applications like, “Protection web”, “digital notary”, “digital signature” and “Certification numerique” which protects digital documents. The young Cameroonian is also an employee of another group, CF-ITS, specialized in securing information systems.

This consists in computer-based investigations, information system auditing and the governance of information systems et al. The group, Makam Lonla Aurel said, has developed a complete web platform which is used in implementing all the security methods they have been taught in school.

“Each person or enterprise that has his/her website and desires to secure it can come into our platform, register it and then download a module which he will install in his website. With the module, he can each time check whether the website has been altered or modified by another person,” he said.

Meanwhile, another innovation on display is the Global Telecom Services which offers sms shortcodes, multichannel contact centre, mobile website, sms marketing portal, call broadcast, music, game and video.

According to the Marketing Assistant of the enterprise, Sidonie Tchongak, the premium sms shortcode by subscribers is based on the corresponding gross payout from each operator to GTS-Infotel, and which varies from one operator to another.

The innovators and others are among the 25 products selected from a pack of over 75 and the best will benefit from a yet-to- be disclosed financial assistance when the forum ends today.
