IMF Chief of Mission visits Philemon Yang

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief of Mission, Mario de Zamaroczy has paid a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.

The IMF boss was at the Star Building on Monday 10th November 2014 to discuss Cameroon’s economic performance this 2014 and projections for 2015, with the Cameroon Prime Minister

During the audience, Mario de Zamaroczy and his delegation presented their observation and remarks at the end of the IMF’s official one week sojourn in Cameroon.

At the end of the audience, the IMF Chief expressed satisfaction with Cameroon’s economic growth of 5.3 percent in 2014 and hoped for an increase above 5 percent in 2015.

He however noted fears in two regards: the skyrocketing of fuel prices at the international level and the security threats in the Far North.

On this note, Mario de Zamaroczy recommended that government reviews some of its expenditure in order to ensure security throughout the country.
