The premises of Collège de la Retraite in downtown Yaounde were filled last Friday June 29 by representatives of some companies, institutions of higher learning and diplomatic institutions. They were participants in an orientation forum organised for final year students of the college.

According to the Coordinator of the forum, Jérôme Mebara, the idea was borne out of the growing need to brief high school students on further academic and professional training opportunities that could enable them secure jobs. "We must therefore inform, sensitise and orientate them. Through this forum, College de la Rétraite pursues the follow-up of children under its care," he told Cameroon Tribune.

The students visited various stands and at every stop, they were briefed by public relations officers mobilised for the purpose by their respective institutions. The majority of exhibitors at the forum were institutions of higher learning offering professional training in fields such as management, computer sciences, engineering, health management and tourism, among others.

The Tunisian and Canadian diplomatic missions showcased training opportunities while the National Employment Fund spoke of Cameroon's growing employment potentials.
