The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have lost to the Elephants of La Cote d'Ivoire by a lone goal in their final Group D game of the Africa Cup of Nations, Equatorial Guinea 2015 played at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo in Malabo.

The goal was scored by Max-Alain Gradel in the 36th minute of the first half by lashing an unstoppable effort into the top-left corner from 30 yards.

Cameroon struggled to level the score but to no avail. The only real chance that came the way of the Lions was in the 88th minute when Aboubakar pushed for a goal with a decent attempt but cleared away by Gbohouo.

The wounded Lions generally disappointed from the start of the game which cost them a quarter-final place in the competition.

Renard's side march on however, securing a quarter-final clash with Algeria, while a draw tomorrow will determine whether Guinea or Mali are to join them in the next round.
