A recent armed robbery carried out by the infamous Denis Tita gang has been compared to those seen in American action blockbusters. The gang wielded seven homemade guns, two automatic pistols, 18 caliber cartridge 12 mill, five blades, two pliers, screwdrivers, a hood, a dagger and three torches and a master key were used in the attack by the gang of four thugs, who were arrested three weeks ago and brought before the Commissioner of the Republic last Wednesday.

In the case of this burglary in Nosa Simbock district, the organised crime unit operated in two stages. During the day, they came in a number of big cars and asked to meet with the boss of the company. Once inside, they ordered him to open the safe, they collected the valuables and locked the boss inside the office. Meanwhile their accomplices outside made trails to return later.

The company says it lost about 84 million CFA francs. It also said they received a visit from the four thugs twice and confirmed the gang were all from the English speaking part of the country.

The company selling beer, in Buns, Mvan, located at the Safinsa Nkolfoulou, of the Breweries of Cameroon Limited, in Saa Lékié, also have vivid memories of the Denis Tita, who cost the company nearly 200 million FCFA.

Although the rings are usually very tightknit it appears on this occasion members were split when it came to sharing the loot resulting in them splitting into two groups.

Joseph Temde, leading police commissioner in charge of the case said following the arrest of figurehead Tataw a few months ago, he betrayed his gang members by revealing their names.

Members were arrested in different cities including Bamenda, Yaounde, Douala. The thugs who are currently in the hands of the "Government Commissioner" are all convicts aged between 30 and 45-years-old.
