Inspectors General of some ministries are meeting in Yaounde in a one-week seminar to be updated on best practices in the elaboration of annual audit programmes in the country.

The meeting that started this Monday 17th November will run till 21st November 2014.

During the meeting, participants will acquire skills on better planning for annual programmes by reducing the risk of not attaining development objectives.

Opening the workshop, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit, CONSUPE, Henri Eyebe Ayissi underscored the need for risk analysis and elaboration of annual audit programmes which he believes constitute the excellent route to emergency.

He therefore challenged internal auditors to exercise ethics in their profession, so that good audit results will be produced especially at the time when the country is experiencing result-based budget programme.

The inspectors general will use the rare occasion to focus on overcoming risk in audits in order to validate internal controls, ensure a favourable audit environment in the country, and adequately safeguard assets as wished by the Head of State in his emergency plan.

Minister Henri Ayissi Eyebe reminded the participants to be able to identify and analyse, respond, gather information and monitor strategic risk that could actually pose as a speed brake to the plans of the partner ministries.

All the trainers were further challenged to show proof of availability, focus and time consciousness so as to be able share and exchange ideas with experts of CONSUPE during the four-day workshop.

It is worth noting that, the workshop is holding under the banner “Risk analysis and the elaboration of audits”.
