His Excellency Ran Rigor visited production units of the Local Material Promotion Authority on August 10, 2016.

The Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, Ran Rigor says technology used to produce local construction and decoration material by the Local Materials Promotion Authority, MIPROMALO is cutting edge and full of inspiration.

The Israeli diplomat was at the Nkolbisson-based brick production plant; one of the factories of MIPROMALO; a public establishment placed under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation.

“We all thought until few years ago that traditional ways of construction were old-fashioned but we now know that those ways are the best,” Ran Rigor said, after visiting the mechanical workshop, production unit and ovens at the Nkolbisson plant where fired bricks are produced.

He was impressed at the technology, stating that it falls within the UN Agenda for sustainability.

The visit continued at the MIPROMALO Head Office in Nkolbikok-Yaounde where the Ambassador was showed how compressed earth blocks, fine ceramic, potteries and beads were produced.

Roof and floor personalized tiles were also on display. An engineering unit for user guidelines as well as a professional training center for youth entrepreneurship were some of the activities that the establishment showcased.

“My visit was first, to create contacts but I hope we will start a long-term framework of cooperation,” the Ambassador said, stating that his country will identify and explore some production lines and possibilities based on specific conditions feasible and suitable to Cameroon.

The attention and questions from the Israeli diplomat was however, fulfilling to the General Manager of MIPROMALO, Uphie Chinje Melo.

“Ambassadors go where they want to assist, I want to believe,” she said, hoping for inputs.
