The inhabitants of Cité des palmiers are still recovering from shock and consternation following the tragic deaths of two kids in the economic capital, Douala.

The corpses of two siblings were discovered dead in a Toyota Lancer car parked in a garage in the quarter not far from home on Monday, May 5, 2014. The children who were five years and 3 years old were missing at about 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014.

Their mother, Anyemfouet Françoise, reportedly told security investigators that they were at home when she went to her beautician that morning. She could not find them once back home.

A manhunt for the babies kicked off with the help of neighbours and continued throughout the day until the next day when they were found at about midday.

The local administration and the Police went to the scene, transferred the corpses to the Laquintinie Hospital Mortuary. A police source say beside the corpses was vomit, indicating that the children might have ingested some poisonous substances before giving off the ghost.

Meanwhile, the Judicial Police have opened investigations to uncover the cause or causes of their deaths.
