The 550 trees will serve as medicinal plants, fuel and help in nature preservation.

The Executive Director of Liberty Eco, a Non-Governmental Organisation, Bonu Innocent, has donated some 550 species of trees which, when mature, will serve as medicinal plants, fuel wood, furniture and most importantly help in the preservation of nature.

The donation to the Bishop Rogan's College in Small Soppo (Buea) and the symbolic planting exercise that ensued under the watchful eyes of Bishop Immanuel Bushu, was the main activity in the college campus last Friday, September 20, 2013. The species include Timber, Tectona Grandis, Fuel wood, Terminalia and ornamental trees.

Bonu Innocent reminded the students that their prime objective in Bishop Rogan's College is to be future priests and as such, must take care of God's creatures including trees. He urged them never to relent in studies; advised them to work hard in order to excel in life. He cautioned that Liberty Eco is against the rampant destruction of trees and vegetation in the name of industrial farming.

The officials of Liberty Eco expressed gratitude to the Bishop of Buea, Immanuel Bushu, for accepting the launch of the tree planting exercise to kick start in one of his schools. An initiative which, Liberty Eco said, will continue to other schools.
