Limbe III public schools receive supplies from mayor

Head teachers of Public Primary schools in Limbe III have received teaching and learning materials from the government.

The donations according to the Mayor of Limbe III, Lord Mayor, Barrister Nseke Luma, is in line with government policy through the Minimum Package Programme to the Ministry of Basic Education.

The young, dynamic and erudite Barrister, cum Mayor, told the Head Teachers that the state of Cameroon prioritize education and intends to make education available to all Cameroonians especially from the grassroots.

All these, the mayor said, is under the basis of promotion of basic standards of the people.

He saluted the head teachers for the work they are doing despite the very difficult terrain in the Sub Division.

According to the mayor, one thing is certain and that is the fact that the Council will continue its best in the noble task of educating tomorrow’s leaders.

He cautioned the head teachers to be diligent and used them for the purpose for which it is due, to ensure efficiency in their output. Also speaking at the event, the Sub Inspector for Basic Education lauded the council for the timely provision of the materials.

The educationist said, it will go a long way to redeem the schools from their crisis of shortage of materials. He went ahead to laud the Government through the council for thinking of the education of young Cameroonians.

He however warned that the books and materials should not end up in the houses of teachers; rather they should be made available in the classrooms for maximum usage Speaking to THE SUN shortly after the donations, the Head Teacher of the Government School Man O’ war Bay said it is a wonderful donation from the Government through the Council.

She responded saying that she will be strict to see that the teachers make use of the material for the benefits of the pupils who are leaders of tomorrow. The same reaction came from the head teacher of Government School Bimbia; who opined that there was no better time than this to aid his institution.

One of the councilors of the Limbe III Council Senior Councilor Nganje, said apart from being a council, as an educationist, the donations were a stitch in time. Councilor Nganje however lauded the mayor for fast forwarding the events to make the ceremony a reality.

The donations of didactic materials comes a few weeks after the Council headed by Barrister Nseke Luma made some donations to the underprivileged and handicaps in the council area.

The ceremony to donate to the underprivileged and the didactic materials, barely a month after his election as mayor has already sent shockwaves to some quarters that the young Mayor is ready to take Limbe III to its dream land of milk and honey.
