MINATD: Civil status registrars reminded of their responsibilities

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization in collaboration with a French NGO - Civi-pol has organized an intensive training seminar to reinforce the capacity of civil status registrars and their secretaries.

The one day training is out to help participants understand their job descriptions so as to eliminate fraud and mistakes on Birth, Death, Marriage, certificates and other documents.

With the use of a manual and other practical training tools, participants were taught on the various ways of evading fraud in the course of processing civil status documents.

The seminar also laid a ground work for a computerized system of documents soon to be introduced in municipal councils nationwide.

The close to 60 participants are Civil Statue registrars and Secretaries from Yaounde 1,2, and 3 Municipalities.
